About us

Originally from Long Island, both sisters are teachers with over 50 years of experience in arts and education. Karen relocated to Florida and is the curator of the exhibit in the Village of the Arts in Bradenton since 2004

Lifelong artists whose creativity knows no bounds, Karen and Teeny move fluidly between mediums and styles, creating works that capture both the grand and unexpected inspirations of daily life. Working primarily in oils, acrylics, pastels and watercolors, they demonstrate versatility across portraits, landscapes, and abstract pieces, while bringing the same passionate attention to intimate hand-painted cards and wearable designs.

The sisters' artistic journey began in a creative household, where artmaking was encouraged. Growing up in a family of eight they have a strong family connection - all of whom encouraged them, laying the foundation for a lifetime of creative exploration. This early immersion in collaborative creativity influenced their approach today – seeing artistic possibilities in unusual spaces and allowing each piece to dictate its own direction and medium.

Their work maintains a permanent presence at the Rabbit Hole, where patrons experience the full range of both sisters' artistic expression. Karen and Teeny share their technical expertise and creative vision with others, while continuing to earn recognition across multiple venues for their distinctive style and work.

Whether wielding charcoal for an evocative portrait or exploring a new series inspired by life's smallest details, Karen and Teeny approach each piece with fresh eyes and an open spirit. Their body of work stands as a testament to the belief that art exists everywhere – it's simply waiting to be.
